“We, Nu Alpha Kappa, seek to unite and involve all students in a more harmonious and brotherly atmosphere through academic, social and cultural means. There is a need to interface the various backgrounds that constitute the student body at UCSB in order to improve relations amongst all students and the community.”

    Our Primary goal will be to succeed academically and not to forget why we are in this university. We will strive to become professional and make our parents, brothers and ourselves proud. With the help of each other and our alumni, we will succeed in this goal and assist our new brothers in achieving the same success. We are our best resources and recognized that our success and failures are a reflection of each other. We are men of mind.

    We are men of pride. We are proud of our different cultures, we will never forget them. Through our own personal experiences we will appreciate our different cultures in ways that can only be completely understood and appreciated by wanting to learn about them. With the help of each other, we will be constantly reminded that we are not in this university solely because of our own actions, but instead because of the actions of our families and our people who paved the way for our current situations. We will never forget our past. Our past is also our present and our future.

    Although our third goal, it has never been our last. We are each other’s families away from home. As Latino men, we value the importance of family. With the help of each other, we create a support system that can only be felt through experience. We take the term “brother” very seriously and as brothers, we treat each other as the family that we are. Although we began our brotherhood in our college years, in no way will it end there. “…and when your heart feels this unseen bond, A TRUE NAK YOU WILL BE!”
